The stock oil separator works surprisingly well. For just a few bucks and a new o-ring you could probably easily improve the OEM one by adding some stainless steel sponge material like this stuff. This is the same stuff found in many cheaper aftermarket catch cans. Would still allow plenty of airflow, but vastly increase the contact points for oil vapor thus reducing how much would make it back to the intake.
