When I was young a bunch of us went to a state park to go swimming. We filled a watermelon with vodka. One of the girls with us went missing. Found her later passed out in the car with a beach bag full of gas tank caps. She got drunk and decided collecting gas caps was her new hobby. Probably 100 cars in the parking lot were missing gas caps when we left ?. We left the bag on a bench near the exit and hopefully the owners claimed them on the way out. She was a rich kid with bad ideas that always got us in trouble.

We filled a watermelon with vodka.
That reminded me of my sailing days. I used to crew on a couple of mid-sized (30ft) boats and summer regattas on the SF Bay were generally a low-energy affair (I assume they still are), with little wind and LOTS of drinking. After a day on the Bay, lazily cruising through checkpoints, all the boats would 'raft-up' at the marina sponsoring the event. Boats would moor side-by-side in the slips and the partiers could, and would, hop from boat-to-boat without ever stepping on the dock.

Anyway, folks would spike watermelons with of bottles of rum, vodka, Cointreau, etc, and the melon would slowly draw the booze out of the bottles while we sailed around all day. By evening we had a potent melon, and there were many to be sampled at those parties.

Not my pic:
