I agree. For tall people (disclaimer: I am six foot three inches), sunroofs take up much needed headroom. And for everybody, they change (for the worse) the aerodynamics of the vehicle, add to cabin noise, and every damn one of them will someday get stuck and/or leak! (I once overheard a Ford technician at the dealer explaining to a female customer that her sunroof would not get stuck so often if she would just leave it closed!)They are a definite deal-breaker for me, and partially responsible for my decision to abandon the higher-end Explorers for the higher-end Rangers, that is, the Lariat, which gives you all the power, tech., specs., and music you want but does not force you to take a hole in the roof to get it!
I have installed aftermarket flip open sun roofs in many of my vehicles , my 2001 Ranger's roof was still good after 18 years. I like them for the extra light as well as ventilation.
I might even put one in my new Ranger, if they still make them when I get it.

I have low maintenance solar heated seats and steering wheel. Even the heater works without starting the engine.

The heated steering wheel is great for my old arthritic fingers. I have it on my 2019 Challenger. I too, would have bought the sunroof option if they had offered it. Here in the PNW the gloomy winter days need more light. I had cooled seats in my 2013 MKX and they were wonderful.

I just realized the Ranger I have had on order since April 21 will not come with a heated steering wheel. I'm not happy about that.

Yep, no heated steerin wheel of cooled seat or sun roof options, I will miss those features that is for certain, had them all on my 17 Edge. I rarely opened the roof but the light was nice, the heat steering is propably the feature I will miss the most, just purchased a new set of cashmere lined gloves which should take care of the cold hands.
I find it kinda of surprising that Ford doesn't offer these options, the roof may be an issue with passing the crash/rollover testing, but the others are interesting indeed, given the Ranger interior looks very much like the interior out of an Edge, which makes me wonder if one could find cooled seats out of an Edge in a reclaim yard? maybe a heated steering wheel as well?? ah probably not worth the effort......

Model-specific airbags make it much more complex.
