Hi guys, back in early June my 2021 Ranger XLT had a transmission failure. It was replaced under warranty and I got the car back on June 30th. The 1st week I noticed that when I would be accelerating up through say 4-5-6 if I backed off just before a gear change it would thud up into the next gear.
But it was very intermittent.
Sometimes it wouldn't do it at all for a few days then it would be back again. Then a couple of times I noticed at around 80 kph it would make a thud noise as it changed a gear.
Today I was driving along at about 80kph and it slipped out of gear completely for around 4 seconds then made a loud thud noise as it dropped back into gear. I had to get Ford Australia to send out roadside assistance to my car at work, just so I could tell him that he won't find an issue and he needs to tell Ford its not safe to drive, just so I could get another hire car.
Tomorrow I will get our company tilt tray truck to take it back to the dealer who replaced the tranny because Ford will only tow it to the nearest dealer, who cant look at it until September anyway..
But any ideas what the issue can be this time??
