I can tell you this, back in December is when I was looking around. The used ones were priced so high that with the Ford incentives it was cheaper in the long run to just get new. Ya the taxes out the door suck big time but, in the end still ahead of the game!

I bought new (last summer) and have no regrets.

Judging from all of the "tailgate damper installing/lift kitting/CV axle boot tearing/crash bar cutting/tuning/change their minds/rip the mods off/trade it in for a Ridgeline" Ranger owners out there, I'd rather get one that I know it hasn't been used as a race truck/rock crawler, etc.

I see a few old rangers on the road. Hopefully the new ones last as long or longer. That is a true test on what is better.
