2020 Ranger XL/STX
I bought new (last summer) and have no regrets.

Judging from all of the "tailgate damper installing/lift kitting/CV axle boot tearing/crash bar cutting/tuning/change their minds/rip the mods off/trade it in for a Ridgeline" Ranger owners out there, I'd rather get one that I know it hasn't been used as a race truck/rock crawler, etc.

I see a few old rangers on the road. Hopefully the new ones last as long or longer. That is a true test on what is better.
