Did you try the answer button on the steering wheel?
I never attempted that ☺.I use the search button and volume button for the radio mostly plus cruise.

? the answer button we don’t need no stinking answer button.
Jk, I also forgot that button even existed on the wheel controls.
To OP please post pics when you get it. Very curious and i remember JVC being pretty nice flip out screens way back.

Retired, work is a four letter word.
I’d be interested in what you get. My 8ā€ Sync radio crashes almost on a daily basis. Getting tired of this bs radio.
That's really sad to hear, so far the 8" sync unit in my XLT has worked just fine (knock, knock!) I am sure you have reset it and tried a software re-install/update. Good luck with an upgrade.

Morning - I am looking to have a new radio system installed. The place suggested a Kenwwod DMX7709S. I took a look at the crutchfield site and it looks nicer than the current 4" screen that I have.

I was curious if anyone had any experience or thoughts about this particular model. Honestly, I am not trying to be cheap, just would rather not break the bank (I. married :D)

Thanks
Morning

I thought I would just respond here for simplicity. I had the new JVC system installed and it looks good. I know they did add in the Maestro system which I I understand helps incorporate all functionality. As far as I can tell everything works quite well from the steering wheel as well as the backup camera. I did pay the extra for the Sirius connection and will sell the plug and play one I was using. Picture attached below.

It was well worth it.

I ended up doing the software update. I think it was the original software from when the truck was new in 2020. So far it hasn’t given me the black screen and I haven’t had to reset it.
