Wow you switch vehicles often, how do you do it?

I believe a lot of it is a mental disorder, at least that what my wife says. My dad used to be a Ford dealer employee which helped because I always got his employee pricing on top of the rebates. During my Tacoma years I was averaging about 42,000 miles a year due to a long drive to work. I now average about 13,000 a year. If I purchase a Ranger, it will be at least another year.

Hi, this is Chris from Rhode Island. Been following this forum for about a month now. Haven't seen any new Rangers yet at my local dealer, so I went to the Boston Car Show a couple of weeks ago. Had to wait in line just to sit in the truck. That same day I test drove one at a dealer in MA. Great truck, was ready to buy one coming in to this dealer mid February but someone had bought it before I got there. The dealer told me that they had a run on them the weekend of the Car Show.

Placed an order at my local dealer on 1/22/19. XLT 4x4 SuperCab, hot pepper red, with Sport Appearance Package. Checked with dealer yesterday but no VIN yet. I know I'll have to wait a while from what I have read on this forum. Does anyone know what these codes mean from my order sheet?

Order Code: R892-R1F Type: Retail Priority Code: 19 Price Level: 950

Gave them a $500 deposit and the sales manager said we will negotiate price when it comes in, but that I would not have to pay full retail. Not sure if I believe him.

Type: Retail means it’s been “pre-sold” to you, not up for grabs
Priority code: Very important. 19 is the lowest priority for retail orders. Ask to be changed to a 10 (highest priority), or 1 (emergency high priority).
Price Level: Irrelevant

You can & should pre-negotiation the price now. Majority of members here have agreed to price beforehand with dealer, you should use a discount program like X Plan or Costco if you want a low price without negotiation.

Will be selling my 2015 F150 XLT SCREW FX4

Looks like we ordered the same truck. I ordered mine on Jan. 15 Still no VIN. Status is "unscheduled clean"

The R1F part of the order code is the configuration.

SuperCab 4x2 (PickUp Box Delete) 126.8” R1A
SuperCab 4x2 – 6' Box 126.8” R1E
SuperCab 4x4 – 6' Box 126.8” R1F
SuperCrew® 4x2 – 5' Box 126.8” R4E
SuperCrew® 4x4 – 5' Box 126.8” R4F

The other part is just the dealer order number. He can use that along with his dealer code to Check your orders status until it is assigned a VIN then he uses the VIN

Hi all .Mike from central PA here. I went to my local dealer last Friday night just to test drive an F 150 and they had gotten in a black ranger ltx in an hour before. So I left with it.

I have about 800 miles on it this week so I'll post my thoughts on the first 1k after my 600 mile trip to VA on Monday.

So far so good! I absolutely love adaptive cruise control!

Hi everyone, my name is Greg and I've been reading these forums for a while and decided to post and join the fun. I ordered a Magnetic Lariat SuperCab 4x4 (501A, chrome, tow package, electronic locking diff and chrome running boards) on 12/22/18. So far, all I officially know is my ROVP was approved by Ford on 1/10/19. I was looking on my dealer's website yesterday and noticed a truck with my exact specs appeared listed in the inventory, "dealer ordered." I checked the VIN listed using Ford's tracking site and sure enough, exact specs of my truck. I emailed the sales manager to find out whats going on and to confirm if its my truck. He's still looking into it for me, but said he was confused since he had an email from Ford stating several orders, including mine, were "on hold." He said my name isn't anywhere on the info for that truck, but he agrees that it's probably mine. So, long story short, I might have a VIN and build date if it is my truck, but I'm awaiting confirmation before I get too excited. As excited as I am to get the truck, I'm not in any rush since we're still in the middle of winter here! Trying to keep the salt off it as long as possible.

Nice looking truck. I love the 17in sport rims. Seems like most I see at the dealers have the 18in rims. Much better tire selection for standard load and LT-C rated for 17in rims. Good choice.
