G'day from Australia,

Have some serious issues with my PU XLS 2019 .3.2 engine. I'm not here to flame the dealer and won't mention who they are.
The damage has been done and Ford are replacing the engine under warranty.
Ranger run beautiful up to the first service at 15,000 klms.
Dropped off for service. A recall was done surrounding the front diff oil breather issue.
Picked up after service and the engine was ticking. Dealer was closed so returned on the Monday to have it looked at.
They reset the ecu and said see what happens after 500 klms.
The ticking turned into knocking at around 3000 rpm and the tac needle was bouncing while engine free reving.
Took sample of engine oil, full of metal infact there were 5 mm chunks.
Returned Ranger, they kept it for a week and had a oil sample analysed.
Got the email, Ford to replace engine.

My question is. Apparently there is no engine number on the new engine and the dealer has to stamp my old engine number onto the new long Motor. Is this correct as new engines on eBay apparently genuine have engine numbers stamped.
I will post the outcome any help appreciated

Wow, not a failure usually tied to dealer service. Defective oil filter perhaps?

If true engine mechanical failure, was very good that it occurred after the dealer serviced the engine, leaves very little room for Ford to renege on the warranty.

After service I sampled oil and the oil was very black like lthe oil change wasn't done.
Ten litres of clean golden new oil so black you couldn't shine a torch through the bottom of the jar with 50 ml of oil.
If I didn't know better it was like they refilled my engine with old oil.
I won't even go into the fact that they also peppered the entire right side with dents. I picked it up and straight away told the workshop manager and he said that they would fix all the dents.
You can understand that I'm hesitant on letting them near my ute again. Sabotage comes to mind...

These engines have a serious defect and there are many engines like mine. If you drain the oil longer than ten minutes the oil pump looses prime. Once ten litres of new oil is added and the vehicle is started the engine runs without oil and catastrophic engine damage occurs. It's noted all over the net about this.
In my case it spun a a main bearing. Not sure if this forum allows video files?
I honestly Didn't think it would happen to me and I've read about allot instances of this occuring. Ford are well aware of it.
I'm capable of doing my own servicing but I trusted my dealer to do it thinking they were compitent.
