I got the call today. 3 days before the tracker stated too! As long as the numbers work on the trade-in of my Escape, I'll be coming home with her tonight. They REALLY want used vehicles right now, so are paying top dollar. I'm hopeful!

My XLT Tremor is "built" as of yesterday. Just waiting for it to ship out or whatever else they need to do. I'm going to start doing those online offers like KBB and Carvana for trade in, just to have a backup in case I don't like their trade value on my '17 Cherokee.

So...pics to follow tomorrow when there is daylight, but yes, IT FOLLOWED ME HOME! I talked to "my guy at the dealer", who is now the sales manager, and I ended up getting $14K for my 2016 Escape SE with 91900 miles, which is more than the KBB private sale estimate. Payments came in right where I wanted them too. Keep in mind that between my wife and I, this is the 6th or 7th vehicle we've bought from him, so he treats us VERY fair. Obviously, your mileage may vary.

First Impressions:
I have to say, it is a damn sexy looking truck! My sales manager told me I can come work for him anytime, as I know exactly what to order. Apparently, the sales guys were all impressed with it today. The biggest thing I noticed upon driving it was how comfortable the ride is. I compared it to my father-in-law's Lincoln Nautilus and my wife laughed...but seriously, it handled these notorious PA roads like a champ. Obviously, the cornering isn't the same, but in a straight line, I find it hard to believe this is a truck. Compared to my '08 Colorado and '06 Dakota, this Ranger rides like butter. It's even a smoother ride than my Escape, and compared to our Explorer ST with its sport tuned suspension, I might as well be driving a Rolls Royce. The other thing that stood out to me is the amount of storage space. The under seat storage in the back is a nice feature, something my prior two trucks never had. The console storage is much bigger than my Escape, though I will be getting the console vault to lock up certain items that I can't always carry with me in certain places. The glove box is also a nice size, at least 50% bigger than my Escape. The tray above the Sync screen and cubby below the climate controls offer some nice space to put those "quick grab items" whether they be a phone connected to Sync, an EZ Pass (it's so tacky sticking it to the glass), or some gum.

Ok, now for the bad. I really wish it had projector beam or LED headlights instead of halogen, but those are not available on the XL or XLT. Next, and this is minor, but I was saying "really?" when they told me. Ford does not give you the little manual/paperwork folio anymore. Everything came in a manila envelope. I'm going to be checking Amazon to see if I can find a little "Ford" embossed folio to store the manuals, along with my insurance and registration. Lastly, I popped the hood. To my surprise, there are knobs top and bottom for gas shocks, but they put a prop rod in instead. I'm guessing they might be another "Lariat" only item. Again, this should be easily solved with home delivery so I don't bang my head when working under the hood! I guess it's kind of a minor annoyance, but again, was one of those "really?" moments.

Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. I'm hoping it is as reliable as my Escape. I plan to keep it for a long time. Remember, pics tomorrow!

Yes, the front seats are heated and come on automatically when remote starting if it's under 55 degrees. I don't think I could go back to unheated seats!

Congrats!!! WE NEED Pics!!

Also, did they try and add a markup on the price? I should know better than to trust Facebook but hearing dealers are marking up custom orders ?

Did you happen to notice if Ford added heated side mirrors? Another member here stated they added that to his XLT?

Did y'all catch this part: " Lastly, I popped the hood. To my surprise, there are knobs top and bottom for gas shocks, but they put a prop rod in instead. " ???

Seriously...a prop rod instead of the hood strut thingys??

I know I've been around here long enough now to not be surprised at what Ford is silently deleting from its trucks, but dang! You put a prop rod on a Fiesta, for goodness sake...not on a $45K truck!

I think I need a nap now. My head hurts...

Yeah... I caught that too. Guess 22's don't get hood struts. At least the mounts are there to add them later. If it gets the truck here earlier, I guess I'm ok with it but that is annoying.

Anyone buying 21-22 MY vehicles used in the future are going to have some serious headaches figuring out which features their car may or may not have!

im loving my '19 even more and more now

I cant imagine my disappointment every few weeks when i add washer fluid to have to use a prop rod....the extra dexterity and thought process would literally make me cry in the fetal position.
It's just weight savings. '22s will be the fastest Rangers because Ford cut all the features out. Soon we'll have a bucket on the passengers side instead of a seat.

Prop rod vs struts isn't a big deal just an annoyance, but struts make it much easier to do a quick fluid check. Raised the price and cut back features seems to be the theme of 2022.
