First post here. I have learned a lot on this forum and thank you everyone for your great info. Here is my problem:
After having an amp installed in my Ranger XLT warning sounds are no longer coming from speakers but from what appears to be a backup noise maker in the dashboard. I have noticed before, that when you disconnect a speaker the same thing happened... it's like if one speaker is malfunctioning or the speaker circuit is interrupt then the head unit sends the warning sounds to the dashboard. Has anyone encountered this problem and solved it?

Mime did that when I ran the battery down. Once I recharged it the sounds went back to normal.

While not in the Ranger, I did have this happen on a stereo install on a F-150. I initially had all speakers in the vehicle amped (doors and the sub I installed). I immediately noticed the loss of the warning sounds but didn't think much about it. A few months later, I made some changes on the system and removed the door speakers from the amp and just left the sub on the amplifier while the door speakers were ran off the directly from the head unit. Overall sound improved (by my ears anyway) and the warning sounds returned. Hope it helps.

Yes, it's clear that head unit needs to see a certain amount of resistance or loop from the speakers or it will send warning sounds to the backup noise maker in dashboard. Question is how to restore such resistance or loop.
As far as low battery battery power is concerned my battery is good so I know it's not that for me...

When I did my F-150 I always assumed the issue was the harness I used to grab the speaker level outputs from he back of the head unit. Question then, because I honestly have no idea, do audio amplifiers create a certain resistance in and of themselves? Meaning If the head unit is expecting a 4Ohm resistance from the speakers, does the inclusion of the amplifier in the system increase that resistance? Just wondering if it is looking for a cumulative total. For example......

Lets say the stock system is 4Ohm. All is right in the world as long as the system sees that same 4 ohms.
Add an amplifier into the system, does that Resistance increase to 5Ohm (just a random number) and it then reverts to the other output method for the sounds?
