I was watching some shorts/reels one day and happened across a video where someone was applying some type of LED or electroluminescent cutouts to the letters on their vehicle's grille. I have a 2019 Ranger XLT with the large FORD Raptor-style Grille and would loved to have my letters light up, especially in blue if possible. I've seen the letters from Oracle but I definitely don't want amber-colored ones. I've also looked at EL sheets that have power leads and are able to be cut to shape but the shape of those letters might make that rather difficult. Has anyone seen anything along these lines? Even something like this but just the FORD?

Here's a mockup of what I'm thinking.

Check the Ohio Admin Codes. A few states don't allow anything other then head lights, driving lights and turn signals on the front of a vehicle. You'll probably be in the clear as long as they're not too bright. I think I saw 24 candle power mentioned, about 300 lumens or about a 30watt light bulb.

Blue may be a no no in your state also...
I had considered this possibility. I wanted to find something to my liking first and then research that before actually buying. Thanks for the heads-up. If it must be that I only have them painted or some type of applique then so be it.

So yeah, blue is a no-no in Ohio. ? White backlight it may be then.

Color of lights - No vehicle shall be equipped with a light of any color other than white or amber mounted on the front nor shall any vehicle be equipped with a light of any color other than red mounted on the rear, with the exception of turn signals, warning lamps and backup lamps

Well , an "emblem" or the "FORD" in this case may not be considered an actual light ?, maybe it's just an "illuminated accessory " ? The jist of that law is so you don't look like law enforcement, an "illuminated emblem " (no light projection) might just slide by ?...it would look pretty damn cool ?, doubt you would get pulled over for it...

Nope , they are complete dicks here and you would be pulled over, even if it was just a back lit glow.

Like any of the light regulations get enforced. Around here I see all sorts of “forbidden” lighting accessories, red, blue, multi color cycles.. Never see anyone get stopped..

Still not sure that an illuminated "FORD" would be considered a light ?, it's really just a "grille emblem", I've seen plenty of those lit up , put it on a switch and just use it mall crawling , you want to do it and we want you to , you kinda have to now , If you get pulled over for being too damn cool ? , then so be it...

If I can find a way to make it look the way I want it to I will do it and drop pics. If I get pulled over for it then it would likely just be a warning and I'll drop that here too if it happens.

Funny that you should say "big blue" in your reply and Big Blue is your user name. Big Blue is what I call my truck and Little Blue is my daughter's '13 Focus that was once my everyday. Old Blue is the '17 Focus I traded for Big Blue. ?
