To me it would appear that the rear drive shaft wouldn’t be the issue.
It would be the front cv axles and maybe the driveline from the transfer case to the front diff.. but shouldn’t truly be a serious issue till around +3.5 up front.
Which a slight diff drop would remedy that once (if) you go that tall upfront..
But leveling the truck seems like it would correct the rear driveshaft angle..
since our trucks have a rake stock..
Isn’t the shaft already at a angle and leveling it would decrease the original angle and not increase it?

regardless of my question, I’m trying to understand how it would cause any difference to the rear. If you’re only changing the front…
The major changes in the angles would be on the control arms and the cv axles. They would be the only items being moved out of oem specs.. the engine transmission transfer case rear driveshaft and rear axle would all move together as a unit..(they move to a different angle in the general space of the world ?, but all those items remain in their fixed original locations.)
Do I have a fair understanding of the situation?
I ask because I’m putting in the Fox 2.5’s set to 3” up front (stock tremor height in the rear).

A leveling kit has zero effect on the rear driveshaft.. if doesnt ruin any angles nor would it improve any. As just said above.. nothing to do with a level has a single thing to do with any of the components that would change the angle of the t case or the rear axle. They will be unchanged.

Lifting the REAR would likely necessitate shimming the axle to correct pinion angle though..

Ah ok, I honestly didn’t know, had a thought, expressed my thought, and requested clarification. Thanks brother.
I’m fairly new to the lifting of trucks and such… this sheesh kinda complicated compared to road racing ?.

I'm in this camp. I put the Bilstein front level kit in set at 1.4" or what ever it was. Seems like everyone was saying up to 2" level is OK but above that starts stressing the front CV joint angles an could affect durability.

The rear drive shaft is a 2 piece with a fixed carrier so I wouldn't think raising the front would change anything between the fixed point an the axle.

You would think, and given that I've heard of guys on here having issues with stock trucks i'm inclined to agree and the issue is just a bad design from Ford. Even the Tremor, which has a revised rear shaft is not immune...

Chucklenuts lol.

The elementary school rhyme of 'im rubber, you're glue..' really doesn't fit any situation better than this one you've decided to create for yourself.

You posted an article about lifting/leveling the front end of something with A SOLID AXLE...

.. the damn article literally has the same level of relevance to the topic at hand as the Lord of the rings trilogy does.. potentially even less ??‍♀

I say this with as much respect as one can give someone who's stooped low enough to start name calling when they've been called out for spreading misinformation... you don't know as much as you think you do. Perhaps you're just a troll? Idk.

Once again.. simply lifting the FRONT of an IFS vehicle does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to ANYTHING between the transmission/transfer case and the rear axle.. and it does the same exact amount of NOTHING to the shaft between the transfer case and the front diff..

Ive hit my limit of arguing for the sake of fact though so.. I'm out ✌?

@Truthofval .. don't listen to Mark.
I wouldn't listen to him no worries the reason the front end is lower I know is for towing reasons, so by his logic once im maxed out on towing and the truck is leveled due to the weight I'm hauling/towing we would have the issues he's talking about im no mechanic but I at least have common sense hahah and by all means I'm not being disrespectful to anyone so no one please have the wrong idea, but you have to think some things through, thanks everyone for your time!

Very happy. No issues.
Thank you for posting this, I believe that I have just found the shock upgrade that I'm going to have done to my truck. Not to distant in the future. Lol! Your truck looks good!
