I’ll preface this by saying this is definitely a mild build in comparison to some of the awesome rigs in here but it’s my first truck, I’m proud of it and I didn’t get the FX4 package to be a mall crawler. I’m going to break this up into the “phases” it’s gone through already starting with when I picked it up in Ontario, OR at the Auto Ranch and drove it home.

I looked in 5 states and this was the best deal of the exact truck I wanted: Lightning Blue XLT FX4 crew cab with the sport trim and technology package. I negotiated the retractable tonneau cover as part of the deal too. Here’s some photos from the drive through Idaho, Oregon and Nevada before home sweet home in California.

The truck was supposed to come with a Bedrug but unfortunately, Ford sent them wrong one so I got one installed when I got the truck home. In addition to that I put the TVD vinyl on the tailgate and some LED lights in the bed for good measure.

Next is the fun part: a 2” BDS leveling kit with the NX2 shocks and a set of 17x9 Fuel “Rebel” wheels (12mm offset for those wondering) and 285/70R17 BFG K02’s. Yes, some trimming had to be done. Coming soon: some Bushwacker fender flares and some fun in the snow!

Ordered these Bushwacker fender flares (part # 20955-02) on Black Friday and got them put on today. I think it came out really sharp and gives it a "mini-Raptor" look.

Added a @Magnaflow muffler (part #11226) today along with a nice 4” chrome tip (#35212) similar to the one that comes with the catback system. The video below is the cold start. I left the resonator on so it’s not much louder than stock but does have a nice low growl at startup and idle and you can definitely hear the turbo now, which seems to spool a little easier. Seems like the “stutter” around 1,500 RPM isn’t as prominent when in Drive and Sport mode is even more fun. It might be all in my head but I’m happy with it.

Got an Opti-Coat Pro+ Ceramic coating done today and had to get a few shots in the sun on the way home. They did a great job and got rid of the scratches from off-roading a few weeks ago too, pictures don’t do it justice.

How are you liking the magnaflow exhaust. Debating purchasing it soon. Any insight appreciated. Nice truck!

I really like it, it's exactly what I was looking for since it's a little more aggressive sounding than stock but still not ricey and doesn't drone at all.

A few weeks ago I reached out to Mountains2Metal about a lower grille for trucks with Adaptive Cruise Control and they offered to send me the prototype for feedback! It only took about 5 minutes to install, as simple as removing and reinstalling the 5 plastic snap rivets with the grill in place. Fills out the gap nicely and have had no issues with it, so hopefully it’ll be available to everyone soon!

I am currently awaiting the Ford Performance tune to arrive sometime in the next few weeks along with an iDrive throttle controller to really wake up the truck and make it even more fun to drive.

While it’ll never be “done” I think I’m “content” with where the Ranger is at this point. The final two components I’ve been wanting arrived and have been put on in the last 24 hours: my Livernois tune and Shrockworks rock sliders.

If you’ve been in the Livernois thread, you’ll already know how happy I am with it. Smooth, effortless power and fantastic customer service. Nothing exciting to look at though so there’s the box.

Today I got my Shrockworks sliders installed and I think it really completes the look and will give it the protection it deserves on the trail.

Nice!

Are those sliders functional as an occasional step ?

How much protection against stone chips will the sliders provide ?

That looks perfect. Love the stance. When you say "a little cutting", you're just talking about the crash bars, yes?
