Mine sounds like that too, especially on cold starts. Wish my engine bay was as clean as yours lol..
only 350 miles...if I have enough fun with it, it'll get dirtier soon!!

I changed the oil in Ranger with a good oil, and that sound disappeared.
That’s very interesting! The oil in there now is from the dealer as I only have 380 miles on it. What oil did you use?

Amsoil XL 5W-30.
I also put Amsoil transmission fluid in my transfer case. It didn't quite double the amount of torque in 4H & 4L, but it made a world of difference. Totally changed its personality, I can say that.

Thank you! After I read your post I found the 29 page thread on the oil/oil filter topic. Lots of other guys in there recommending Amsoil and Wix oil filters. Will definitely try it.

At 500 miles now and sound significantly better (meaning can’t really hear it at all anymore with the windows down). I didn’t do anything to the truck so who knows. Figured I’d mention it for anyone with a new truck to give it time. That said I will change the oil a about 2k just to be conservative.
