Would you be kind enough to take a picture of your tonneau with the swing-box installed? Unless we have different Ford tonneau's, there is no way to make it work. QUESTION>>>The handle, when locked in place is about 5 inches too long, and as there is a spring in the handle, it cannot be cut and made shorter.why?
I thought it would be a problem to but I just push it a bit harder and the spring stretches everything tight.
I have ford trifold soft cover. (I ordered my truck with it so I am still paying for it techinically. and the ford driver side swing box. At first I got mad like you, but now I jsut leave room to swing the box out, pop the latch and push the box back. it doesn't become an issue all that often.
Also it comes off so easy. I got asked to help someone move at the last minute. I drove there tookt he cover off, drove back and forth moving heavy furniture around, and put it back on when i was done.
the swing case is locked anyways
Mine is the OEM FORD tri-fold soft tonneau. Does anyone else have one like mine...and also has a swing box installed? A picture of the setup would be great. For what it's worth, my swing box clears the hard cover. I keep some of the towing gear in there.
To be fair i was ready to be all pissed off. Cut down the handle etc. Then i slammed the case closed. To open it i do have to swing the case out but it worksWould you be kind enough to take a picture of your tonneau with the swing-box installed? Thanks, but to be certain I understand, you have to swing out the swing box to fold back the tonneau? If that's true....No good for me.....Thanks again.....But now I know how you got it to work....lol
