So a few weeks ago I ended up purchasing some more IPF Lights(can't help it as they make good stuff). To be specific it is the 840 FYSFog Light. These have a Orange Lense and a set of 100 Watt H3 Bulbs. They do come with a complete wiring kit and heavy duty switch. Due to already having fog light wiring I simply used that on the Pathfinder. For the Ranger I would use the supplies harness if you don't have a switch box.
Why did I opt for the lights(besides just liking IPF)? Well one thing that has been a challenge for me with the Pathfinder after getting my Headlights changed to the IPF 820H, it has been a real pain being able to see in oh so lovely Inclement Weather Conditions(Dense Fog, heavy snow storms and similar weather). Even with the PIAA Solar Yellow Bulbs in the OEM Fog assembly it was still making it tough to see the road.
Well a couple nights ago I was able to test these out and I can tell you it was worth it. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures as the phone did not want to do it any justice. We did have a minor snow here in the Denver area(at least where I'm at) and we had a very Dense Fog show up right before. The Fog was so bad that I couldn't tell where the road was with my headlights on. With the Fog Lights and Headlights combine it wasn't too bad in some spots, but I had some sections that I had to turn my Headlights off and keep the Fog Lights on. Thankfully these Lights did the job I was asking and allowing me to get through the adverse conditions!!
As I am sure it can be changed, these lights are set from the factory to be mounted in an upsidedown orientation compared to other other aftermarket lights, but I believe just flipping the lens will fix that if need be.
Depending where you go these light may cost upwards of $200, but I can promise they are worth the cost!!
Here are some pictures of it on the Pathfinder(yes it is the Rectangular Lights)
