Well...I thought I was going to follow through to and order the infotainment upgrade for my 2019 XLT (300a). I called and was placing the order and the gentleman on the phone was asking me details about my truck. When I was asked about the question about the climate control zones and I advised him I only had the single zone - he said that it would not work for my application.

Since this option is now out for me - what other options do I have? I want to be able to retain:

Backup camera
Steering wheel controls
phone/blue tooth capability
Ford Pass Remote Start

Thank you

Since you are not specific on what you are wanting to do or what company you are referring, I think you are being misinformed.

Now keep in mind that 4D Tech package has already made the (As-Built) changes to the modules.
If you were to purchase these from a salvage yard, you would have to do it yourself, but it also would be a lot cheaper

I suggest you watch the video link below for a better understanding of what the salesperson was referring (Single-Zone Climate) but that does not block the system from being upgraded.

I also have single-zone climate controls and want an upgraded infotainment system but don't want a bunch of unused buttons on the 4D Tech option. wish you could just switch the screen and not the whole center deck.

Yes, the main button control is the FCIM (Panel), and the Touchscreen is just a repeater of the physical buttons on the panel.
This is the main reason the 2 go together
