Planning to change the oil on daughter's Subaru - got sticker shock regards the price of an oil filter that was $ 4 a year back, now is going for $12 . Bought 5 qts jug Supertech oil recently at Wally Mart and it was $2 more than some months back, understandable . And Wally Mart's own brand of oil filters has consistently been sold out at at the local shop.
So going to buy Microguard oil filter from Checker, $6
update, bought SuperTech Motor Oil and it also has gone up by $2 in 4 weeks, now $24.88, was IIRC $19 before the war. The oil filter (Fram) was $ 4 a year back, now almost $12 on Amazon. Does anyone know what's going on with Walmart Super Tech oil filters, there were limited sizes in stock at the local Wally Mart, a lot of out of stock and it seems that has been the case for several yrs now. Picked up Microguard at O'reilly , $6 for the low end filter.
