So some friends came over last night and showed us how to play Mexican Train. It is really fun game and takes a while. But definitely a good way to pass time with friends. I just ordered me a set.

We just have a set of double 12’s and some pennies. No fancy accessories. Sometimes we start with a full set at 12. Other times 9 or 6 depending on how long we want to play. I like Monopoly, but train is so non thinking, that you can chat while playing. There is some, but not much strategy.

Looks fun. Although the name is bit "questionable" in today's age.;)

A good casual game we played as a family growing up was Tripoley.

My wife's family introduced me to this game about 15 years ago. The whole family gets together to play it. We have a set as well. The centerpiece and trains are plastic though. This one looks nicer. It's definitely a fun way to pass time after dinner.

My mother-in-law now lives in a very nice retirement community and this is one of the games that they love to play. However, because we live in a sensitive blue state, the retirement community is much more PC and insisted on calling it "Community" Train for fear of offending anyone
