Just like going to buy tires and having to tell what size engine you have.
Reminds me when I went to get tires for my '99 B4000. The door sticker says 265/75-15 tire size, which 10.5 x 30.6 x 15. They wouldn't sell and mount 31 x10.5 x15 because it wasn't on the door label. I had to buy 4 'loose' tires, then bring them just the wheels with old tires so they could mount the new ones. I went in the parking lot, jacked up the truck, removed the wheels and rolled them into the shop for mounting. And get this: they even let me use their floor jack and stands.

I feel your pain. When I got the new tires for the Ranger I emailed them and told them the truck, trim, FX4 option and everything. Got the quote dropped it off no issues. When I picked it up the total was way more than the quote. The reason was the door sticker stated the stock tires( Hancook Dynapros) were LT tires so they had to use LT tires only even though the XL tires I had quoted exceed the stock tires ratings. The Cooper Rugged Treks in an LT are 10ply. Ended up getting Them for the quoted price but saying a Ranger has to have E rated tires is just ridiculous ?

The burn mark might require special treatment...car surfaces get hot enough to cook eggs...I'm sure it would cook her
Gonna be 115 today supposedly.
