Hi,

I just traded in my 2021 Supercrew Ford Ranger Lariat 4x4 which i had a tri-fold tonneau cover & spray in bed liner for a 2025 Supercrew Ford Ranger Lariat 4x4 which currently has no liner or anything yet. I have mobility issues so climbing in & out of back of truck bed to get things w/o help is an issue. I would like to be able to transport occassionally stuff from storage or whatever but it is not an everyday thing. I don't want to have to put everything in the back seat because well, then have no room for people or to put grocercies or anything in back seat plus people can see in & I don't want someone breaking into my truck. I am looking to do a bedslide & find a solution for storing my walker or fold up travel scooter in truck bed without it getting mildew/mold all over my walker/luggie travel scooter (30 lbs). Storage solutions for truck, and everyday as well would be appreciated as well. I want to improve on my previous experience with the tri-fold tonneau cover which leaked a lot around front and my walker would have mildew all over it. I was told partly this is due to how Ford constructed the front of truck bed against cab. Why would they do this if it causes issues? Sounds like a design flaw. Any help would be appreciated as my knowledge is limited. Plus, was told can't go through car wash as voids warranty on truck caps but not sure if that's just the 1st 90 days or ever. Which is crazy too if it's ever! Why would they make it like this? I can't hand wash due to my disabilities & cannot take off once installed, plus I live in apartment so no hose to was by hand if I even could.
Thank you for any help/suggestions...

A bed cap or cover should not lose warranty coverage from going through car washes. I think someone has misinformed you, but you should probably limit yourself to touchless car washes since the brush or cloth washes can snag protrusions and cause damage.

At the front of the bed, there is usually a height difference between the bulkhead and the bed rails that should be filled by a foam or rubber seal. There is a product called cap tape that is typically used to seal that space when installing a full cap. Bed covers usually come with a seal for that area as well but not always, so good installers keep some on hand to plug that space.

There are a couple of companies that make slide-out storage products. Decked and Bedslide are names I remember. There are swing-out cases that use the space from the wheel well to the tailgate for storage. You can probably find all, or most, of these on RealTruck.com.

Thank you so much for this information! I love my truck, know how to check fluids but not well versed on all the accessories, how to & any tech or mechanical. I will check that out.

I would get a bad cap for sure, I would look at Leer option (going from personal experience), they offer integration of the rear window lock with the electronic lock in the tailgate, so you just hit unlock on your fob and you get access to the back. Leer is also aware of the need for extra bracing in the back to support the canopy (i know this was an issue on the raptors, not sure about the regular ones or if they've fixed it already).

Leer also offers a bedslide, so you could probably one stop shop this at your local Leer dealer.

I push for Leer products personally due to their service. My dad has a cap on his 01 super duty, and needed a new rear window for it. Well the cap has long been out of production (at least that style, he bought it in 01), but they were still able to provide a replacement.

I was looking at Leer. Just wasn't sure on combination or if I should be looking elsewhere because I am new to having a vehicle that is loaded. Before I got the 2021 & now traded in for the 2025 I never had all the options on my vehicle. I want to add to my truck & make it the best version for me just need assistance getting there as I don't know all the options to solve my issues for the vehicle. Thank you for giving me more input to work with!
