I've seen quite a few trucks on the road with similar shell fits. I would personally not be happy with it, but if it works for ya, rock it.
tbh im the same it already bothers me a bit ? but ill get a different one down the road or maybe even a camper but this is just for temporary camping right now mainly because my dog hates tents lol

I agree. Too high, too wide and the rear hatch does not mate up to the tailgate well. Not on my truck!

If it works for him, great.

Don't butcher it up to much for temporary use. Do your thing with it save some money & sell it for a profit to use toward a new one.:like:

Yep, too wide, too tall, too long.

But your intended use seems limited and taking it on and off isn’t too bad if you have the right setup and a place to keep it when not in use. I used to swap my topper on and off my 2001 Ranger regularly with two shop towels and a five foot piece of 1x4 trim board - stored it standing on end, resting on the t-handles in a custom vertical shed I built…

There is a ladder and a wheel barrow stuffed inside the topper in the middle section. Zoom in and you can see there’s a topper in there.

So, you do you. For $200, you scored a good deal. You can always sell it if you end up getting a SmartCap or a GFC or something else. Enjoy camping with your pooch as much as possible but jeezaloo, find a way to take that ill-fitting thing off and stow it because you’ll cringe every time you see it. ?

I'll bet if you sprayed it the same color as the truck no one would give it a second glance.

Make it worse for camping though since it would be hotter.

But hey, for $200, I wouldn't complain, sounds like you have the perfect use for it, and as long as you don't hack it up, will probably be able to get your $200 back when you get tired of it, if not more.
