Hello there, so I want to do a little experiment on my truck that some of you.may want to follow. As we know the lariat does not use the low bead as a driving light. Well I just put the Alpharex LUXX series lights in my truck and i wonder if I set whatever module to the lariat setting if it will keep the driving lights on without using low beams? Worth a shot right? Well I need help figuring out what to change. For some reason I could not find it but yet I know it is hidden somewhere in the forum. If someone could help out that would be awesome!!

What are you trying to accomplish?

Driving lights on with highbeams?

Or driving lights on with/as DRLs?

As far as I know those changes can both only be made with ForScan. Not sure how these aftermarket lights and models would/could change that.

I'm talking about making the changes made with forscan as if you were putting lariat headlights in. As we know the lariat headlights use a different light for the DRL. I'm curious if making the change in Forscan will make the DRL work on the Alpharex without the lowbeam and without having the DRL module installed while keeping the light switch on auto. Make since what I am attempting to accomplish? I know it isnt guaranteed but I think its worth a shot.

Ok, so I managed to find the lariat headlight settings. I will make an attemp at it later today to see what happens. If it works I will let everyone know.

Gotcha, between the lights and ForScan I think you'll have success. Wish I could help more.

Well I made the attempt and here is how it went.

So first I tried to set it like a lariat. It did not work like i hoped as the wiring is a little different. I started to check other settings where the park and turn were on...... Well it was the turn and park.... What a surprise.....

Next I tried one more thing. I went into the dropdown menu part of the BCM and did the following adjustments.
Allowed DRL options: +Dedicated DRL
DRL Configuration: Dedicated DRL
Daytime running lights include Parklamps: Enabled

With these setting and the switch in auto the DRL lights on the Alpharex will be the regular DRL lights with all the marker lights. It will not use the low beam what so ever. I also checked and the low and high beams still work normally.

Just to add if you dont want all the parking lamps on during the day just hookup the DRL module and do not activate the parking lamps with DRL
