Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope you had a good Thanksgiving there and that's good mpg for the trip! What did you use to oil the underside? Now that I'm not in AZ anymore I might have to consider doing this. They say winters aren't to bad out here but they do get some snow on occasion and I'm not sure what they treat the roads with.

Used motor oil lol. Smells like a 15 yr old vehicle but it was cheap. I know my grandpa used to do this up north because he wouldn't pay for Ziebart, etc. lol. You would need to reapply probably monthly on the areas that get blasted with rain/snow/puddles and the like. I only did it because I don't want a rusty underside on a Southern truck.

Thanks, Cheap is good! lol I'll wait and see how the winter goes and ask my neighbor (he's been in the area for 25 years) what they use on the roads around here if/when it snows. Thanks again!

You're nearly completely retired. When it snows, don't go.

Or....
Couldn't you 303 the underside? Or would you be forced to use the competitors industrial-stength product, @DukeCanBuildit's 404?

It's not the snow it's all the crap they use on the roads (in some areas) afterwards I'm worried about. But yes, I don't have to go out in it if I don't want to for the most part. I'll have to see (and ask) what they do around here this winter.


I'd never buy a cheap imitation only the original!
