Heh nice lever action you got there. It'd be a shame if someone...copied it and sold it for twice the price.

Sad but not shocked. I'll get flack for it but I hate sw so much lol. For a mix of reasons. I know some of the products are great. But I refuse to own anything they sell

What are their issues? I did a quick search but only found some statement about the owner blaming politicians for gun violence.

I mean it sucks they killed Thompson Center Arms. I might want an Encore or Contender. Am on a waiting list for a guy who is making new frames.

I have no issues with the products it's the busines over the years. Decades back they were in on Clinton's anti gun moves. Things like copying designs of others and some how skirting the hot water. Although If I remember correctly Gaston did beat them in court over the then called sigma model. Other old farts may recall sw being one of the gun companies that often bowed and aligned with anti gun politicians and still had a product to sell that was "compliant" ahead of other makers. Enough ahead that many assumed sw and big brother were is cohoots behind the scenes. Much of my dislike is also my own attitude. The ads from sw are so cliche I wanna gag. Mostly drapped in red white and blue. It seems like many of the really well selling models sw has put out are copies of other makers stuff. Sure lots of companies do that. But sw has been doing it since single action days and mostly never been in trouble for it. The stuff they make is likely great and works well. But I'm not gonna give em my money. I feel they are a shady company. They have cleaned up the dirty laundry a lot and changed hands a few times but I'm still holding my grudge from the 1980s and 1990s lol

Ah I see. Sounds like the same shit Bill Ruger pulled, proposed a bunch of gun control measures in the 80s and stopped selling his ARs. Some say it was to undercut other companies that sold ARs while his Mini-14 escaped the assault weapons ban. He also copied guns basically, just made them in different calibers. But most people give Ruger a pass simply cause he and his cohorts are all dead and gone now.

yes very similar! Many blame bill ruger for the magazine limit crap, me included. but i do have to admit in the past i owned several ruger products before knowing of the brands deals with the devil. I didnt sell the rugers due to a grudge. I was a broke ass and needed to pay bills. they were all limited magazine capacity and the extra magazines were way over priced at the time. the p90 was a really nice shooting gun (browning copy just in a 45 lol). later a 1911 took the p90s spot and i dont miss it. I think the sw thing and a connection to a politician i couldnt stomach is what makes me hold the grudge.

I love my set of S&W 629s. :)

My dad bought himself one and got me the other as a high school graduation present.

This is why I hate that I have to remove my RMRs every year to replace the battery. I buy new screws every time too.
RIGHT!? That's why I've been on a Holosun kick. I love the RMR on my GLOCK 34 MOS and I carried that on duty for years. But the side-load battery on the Holosun is just soooooooooo damn convenient! LOL

I make bad choices.

It was $48.89 plus the ride. It was described as having a dead trigger and missing the firing pin and selector spring.

The good news is, it truly is only missing a tiny spring and the striker that goes on the hammer. The other good news is that the trigger was actually dead, but only because the mainspring and guide were installed upside down!

The ultra-bad news is that parts for these are nonexistent! I could only find the tiny spring I needed to get this back functioning. Until I broadened my search to be more generic, and I found one single, solitary parts kit labeled as a generic .22 derringer parts kit for, after shipping, twice what I paid for this stupid thing! HAHAHAHA I am bad at this hobby! ? But I have always wanted a derringer for the novelty of it and I like fixing cast-aside broken guns. It's like saving dogs from the pound, kind of.

I recently saw one of these in a gun store chambered in of all things...45-70 government. I think it was less a matter of making a firearm and more the manufacturers expertise in metallurgy.
