When you go on the Silencer Shop site in the top right you'll see where you can select a dealer. There should be one close by that has the Kiosk. You just add all your info into the Kiosk and it will take your fingerprints (digital). Then you download their app and take a selfie to add your picture on file.

If you're going to buy one I would buy it through the Silencer Shop because there's NO sales tax and they will ship it free to your dealer to hold onto until your tax stamp is approved. There are no transfer fees either. You can call them and they will walk you through everything on your order. So first go to the dealer and set up your account through the Kiosk, then download the app and input your picture. Just tell the dealer you're undecided on the suppressor right now and go back home and order from the SS. Once you have everything all set up the next one is as easy as calling them (or ordering online) and placing the order, just like how you bought the Kimber.

Man you got some freakin' great info. You just beg me to spend money!! And come to find out, my local NFA dealer is someone I used to work with years ago.

Lol...This is one hobby that's defiantly NOT cheap! I've always wanted a suppressor but we couldn't have them back in MA. Once I shot my friends CZ Scorpion a couple years back I went right out and bought both. It's nice being able to shoot without hearing protection but another nice thing is it really helps those who are anticipating the bang from pulling the trigger. It's helped my girlfriend a lot now she has a better trigger pull and is more relaxed from not anticipating the bang from the 9mm and the 223,more so the 223.

The 22's are just stupid quiet and it's nice to be able to shoot and talk without yelling at each because your ears are plugged. There's more noise from the steel targets than there is from the shot.

Yeah We come here to spend money on Rangers and I end up buying four more guns LOL... That's a good sign though it means I'm at the end of my rope with the ranger accessories.

I think I will buy another holster

I was done with my Ranger mods last year. I usually only do a few mods to my trucks as I don't keep them that long. I keep my guns a lot longer than 3 years so I can justify buying more. lol

I was bored today (this is what gets me into trouble) and was looking at another 22 pistol and I might get a M&P 22 compact. It comes with a threaded barrel already and 2 mags for $300.00/free shipping and no tax. The reviews are great and say the grip is thin like the Shield plus I have a ton of 22 ammo.

I just sold my M&P 22 compact to a friend. No threaded barrel, though. I'm just not a fan of anything in 22. I did like the cost of ammo.:)

I think if I had a place to shoot outdoors for hours free like you do in the desert, then maybe I would have kept the M&P 22 but for range use, I don't find a 22 fun. Too easy and I'd rather use bigger calibers for range use time.
Great pistol. Never had a hic cup and was accurate.

Right now I have 3 pistols in 22 and 2 rifles. Sometimes when her and I go I'll just bring a couple 22's if we're just going to go for a short time. She doesn't get to shoot enough (not living here yet) so the 22's are more fun for her although she does like my Scorpion.

I've always like shooting 22's but I agree I wouldn't want to waste most of my range time with it. I've been lucky because even when I was back east the range I went to was an outdoor one and there was no time limit and most days no range officer. The owner was really laid back but this was out more in the country.

I have a few different spots we go to depending on what we're shooting. One spot is an old air strip out in the middle of nowhere and I met the owner and he gave us permission to shoot there and watch the place for him. You can easily shoot out 500+ yards,it's nice and flat.

Dave here is the site where I ordered my Kimber from. They give prices to a lot of places. really handy.

Thanks Tom. I've been using that site for a few years now,I think I posted it somewhere back in these 41 pages. lol It's nice because you can also look up accessories there too just use the UPC number or part number. I've found a lot of my mags on there much cheaper than Gun Mag Warehouse which seems to be getting much more expensive even before this gun buying spree started. I have on occasion found things elsewhere cheaper but 9/10 times gun.deals is the best place. :like:

Look what came in today. I broke it down to give a little Ballistol treatment. Is was a pretty good price. Especially with the CT laser grip. I want to get good at 7 to 10 yards where I would not need a laser. If I get good enough without a laser I'll be very happy. 10 yards is 30 ft that's longer than a garage. What do you think is the minimum yardage one should pay attention to. I'm thinking 3 -7 yards. I don't see me getting into gun fights at 20 yards. If I get into that kind of a fight I'm going to need to trade my 22 for the Smith & Wesson AR-15 .223

I only turn on the laser when carrying. So if I can react quickly without the time to aim. The wife does the same. I really don't use or need the laser for target shooting.

Yeah that's a great habit. I don't see anything wrong with lasers but I think you should have learn how to shoot using the sights first then use a laser in a situation where you may not have 5 seconds to take careful aim and squeeze the trigger. That's where I can see a laser working also somebody that gets a green or red Beam on their chest will think twice too Or they'll or they just shoot first!!

I used the laser at the range in the beginning but now I try to use the sites. When I see a guy like Hitcock44 hitting targets 50 yds away with a pocket carry, I know it's not the gun... Are your ranges closed up there? I'm due for a trip. LOL

Sweet! That came in fast,it looks almost like my Springfield EMP 1911 9mm. I'm still undecided on what I'm getting next. I've been flipping back and forth all weekend between the S&W M&P 22 compact, the Kimber KHX Pro with the CT laser grips and then I forgot about the Rock Island 1911 9mm I had saved a while back. I could actually get the RI and the S&W and still have money left over for what the Kimber cost. I've never owned a gun with a laser but have shot my friends Glock who has one one his rail. You really notice how much your hand shakes with one.

I mostly shoot at 7 yards then I move out to 10 for my final rounds. If you end up shooting someone past that you could end up screwed because a lawyer will argue that you were far enough away for your life NOT to be endangered. Now I don't necessarily agree with that because every situation is different but I wouldn't want to be put through the ringer because of it. Now I do set up a couple steel targets at 25 yards and will mostly shoot that distance for fun and accuracy.

We always have an AR and a bunch of other rifles with us so there's always steel targets from 100 yards and out to 500. I was trying to hit the 100 yard one with my Kimber the last time we were out but it was windy and between that and the bullet drop it wasn't happening. lol

What a great post...I will set the farthest target at 20 feet and the closest qt 10 feet I agree if I am 20 feet from the danger I should not be attempting to fire. especially without any help from a laser. That's what I will work on 7-15 yds without using the laser. My next buy will be the SW MP15 Sport II .223 I will likely consign the MP15/22 sport.........or not >>>LOL IM ready for my second rifle. Three hand guns and two rifles is my limit after that is one in one out.

Yep IM going for the SW MP15 next. I may have a buyer for the .22 so I'm not taking a trade in loss, $300 I'm keeping the scope to put on the SW MP15 until I learn more about scopes and red dots.

I usually set up at 7 yards to start. Nice easy aimed shots. I end up at 3 yards with 2 quick draw shots not looking down the sights. I do that for the "bull rush" scenario where there is little time to react. I sometimes do it at 7yds just for fun. The class that I took, the instructor also mentioned the "screwed if over 21 ft" rule. He is a Maj. on the local Sheriffs Dept. (and a classmate/friend of my wife) and does the firearms training for several police departments. So I figure he would know. He keeps up on all the rules/regulations and changes.

On a side note, we agree to disagree on "civilian" open carry :sunglasses: . He is against it for various reasons.
