Okay not really ground effects like import tuners have, but was wondering if anyone has done anything to cover up the bottom strip of sheet metal below the sill? I have factory running boards and don't like the exposed metal you can see here:

Also been thinking of a way to cover/protect that welded crimp edge.
Thinking of something like this if I can figure out how their measurements work....

Covering this up with U channel is only inviting a corrosion environment by trapping moisture. Best thing you can do is use undercoating spray or brush on paint for extra prevention. No kidding, I was contemplating using flex seal black in this area to rubberize the application. Worst it could do is peel off to then need reapply. I think there is some sort of coating like this already before they body color paint it.

You bring up a valid point...would probably hold moisture and eventually rust.

Hi Rick,

I am going to show my weakness for the 5G in that many joints like this pinch weld flange are lined with a seam sealer prior to spot welding and I suspect this is the case here, but IKD for sure and hesitate to state this is a sealed joint as I am not in the know. Therefore I would heed your advice unless someone can say one way or the other...

Best,
Phil

Take your body hammer to it and fold it up to the inside where you can't see it ;)

Seriously though, flat black rock guard would be my go to.

I saw in another thread that someone used Plasti-dip on it. But yeah, I think I'm getting those black ones from Bushwacker.
