I was referred over here. I have a part that came out of the driver door 19 ranger xlt crew cab. It snaps into the riveted interior latch handle and holds the latch cable in the handle in the interior of the vehicle. Any ideas? I can't find a part number. Images below are from above and side, broken off piece snaps into back of interior handle and secures latch cable. Thank you.

Take a look at the attached PDF and let me know if you can identify it there. From what I see it appears to be a component of 26684 perhaps?

As a response to the above link. I looked at the attachment and it very well could be, I'm just wondering why it is so easily disconnected from the rest of the frame. It is on both the front and rear doors so it is a common element. The only other place I can clearly see it is from the service manuals, and it is definitely separated. See attached below. The first picture is the section of the manual, and the second is the part attached to the latch cable separately. Thanks for your help in this matter. I'm stumped.
