Alright, so we all know i dont have the Ranger anymore but I still have my 1993 Nissan Pathfinder Sport(back in the day when it meant something).

Well today i decided to go have some fun on the trail because why not!! Now I will state that the Pathfinder is stock and it came equipped from the factory with a rear limited slip(that isnt worn out with 270K), Rear disc brakes(sport package thing) along with factory 31 inch tires(the current set is a bit worn out).

Now some are wondering if its a vehicle worth taking OffRoad. I can answer that with a Hell Yeah!! To top it off here is an article from 1991 that made me smile a bit. Even @P. A. Schilke might get a surprise from it

As for the fun adventure I went to Pitkin, CO. On the way there I had a fun senic drive including a fairly deep water crossing. I also went along the Alpine Tunnel Trail just north of Pitkin. After that just went home.

Here are the pictures from all that!!

Nice! A 91' pathfinder was my first 4x4. I still miss it and occasionally find myself searching ads for a good resto candidate.
Glad to see someone hitting the trails with one. It was a shame when they switched to the unibody design...

I had a 1992 just after moving to Colorado. Come to find out I was older than it by 1 day!! What are the chances of that?!

Sadly it met a sad ending with a rollover in 2019

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the memories... I headed up Chassis Design Analysis on the 1991 Explorer so had a hand in delivering the chassis systems for the Explorer. Biggest deal was we saved 3 lbs on the front steering knuckles (6 lbs of unsprung weight savings, which is huge) and made them 3 times stronger than the original design. Because of using cutting edge Optimization Analysis technology to accomplish this, I won one of the top prizes and honors at Ford, A Henry Ford Technology Award...

Best,
Phil

Do all of your vehicles meet an untimely end?

Frenchy you getting another Ranger?
Eventually is the key word to understand. Due to the current situation a new Ranger will be a bit just so i can get other debts taken care of. Also lets just say i like the Pathfinder a bit more after taking it out a few times
