So i understand there is a bit of work needed to put in an elocker from the Factory if you dont have one and I have found out that if you can get the sub harness for the rear axle you are just about ready. My question is do you have to just enable the rear locker or do you have to change a digit in the programming?

ABS has the final control of the e-lock diff, wondering if that's it, or if there's another flag In the steering processor somewhere.

Well I just looked out of curiosity and the e locker can be enabled in the IPC. So if you get the switch, sub harness and axle(and willing to spend the money) it can be done.

Did you get the guts for the gift you would have to include the axle shafts on that too. Also you would have to drill a hole in your axle housing for the wires to go through. Chances are you have to get a ring and pinion with all the bearings too so regardless it's going to be pricey.

I should add set the cost to do this swap would cost you just as much for an air locker with on-board air from ARB

I wish I did. That's something I'm currently working on and it'll probably be towards the end of the month or next month that I might get that posted since I'm in the process of moving right now

if i remember right- feel free to correct me- ARB just has a gizmo that replaces the planetary inside the diff plus all the other crap outside the diff to make it work. Mother ford looks for the cheapest way out and probably just has an electric gizmo to do the same thing and charge $1000 to have $7 piece and switch installed in the factory. again correct me if i'm wrong. I was thinking about front and back ARB so I didn't a locking diff in my truck

If you're wondering yes all the stuff in there is correct. I already understand that on the non elocker diffs that the ring gear is welded to the diff........ Probably one of Fords better ideas if you ask me......

Its all one piece still. When you get an elocker carrier the solenoid(or electro magnet) is sitting on the carrier amd is ment to allow rotation so it doesnt break the wires.

Also to add the air locker from ARB the carrier is $1,000 but you still need to get a new ring and pinion along with new bearings and shims. Dont forget the air compressor either. With all that you might as well add the on board air so you.can air up and down tires along with a small air impact for tire changes. It unfortunately does add up quick.
