May be a silly question but...
I always hand wash Truck and wife's Subi using a quality car wash soap.
When you use a foam "gun" hose attachment, and spray your vehicles down, do you also have to/should you also use a mitt or cloth to "wash" it down and rinse ? Or does the foam solution basically clean and then you rinse ?
Never have used one before and I see many of you use one.
I don't let my Ranger and wife's Subi get "dirty dirty" just the usual road dirt from regular driving.
And, which one is good quality and recommended ???
Not silly at all and I only learned of this last year.

I like the MJCC foam cannon but there are many good ones.

And I often just foam and rinse. No hand washing, no drying. It'll knock off the big dirt.

If I want to do a coat of graphene, then I'll foam it and use a few microfiber towels with a bucket of soapy water. I do use a bucket grate in it. Then rinse and try to dry. It's often pretty dry before I get to do it.

I use the compressor or leaf blower to dry it sometimes.

Then 303, which I was nervous about before my first use. But it's easy, just wear nitrile gloves if you don't want black and brittle finger nails.

Spray the 303 into a microfiber towel or sponge with the nozzle pressed right up to it. A little goes a long way and I'd guess I could do Soupie a dozen times with one bottle.

Just wipe it on a small area, like less than a panel (I split the bed side into 2 or 3 sections). Really thin coat that will be ready to buff in about 2 minutes. It "flashes" to white and buffs off easier than carnauba wax.

I only did two 303 coats last year with just foam and rinse in between. I also graphene the outside glass.

In my signature links I link to the foam cannon and also Mitt-on-a-Stick which I wouldn't buy again. It's too heavy but okay for the roof, hood, and tonneau cover.

I don't go nuts like Kate does and rarely detail the inside, except for the glass which I only do with water. A la IMJOSHV of YouTube fame. I sometimes pull out the front mats and blast them, but usually it's a shop vac and an attempt to get some of the Cheech hair!=D

Good luck and beware of the cost and time suck that becoming a fancy-pants Ranger owner can become!

Thanks David...been using 303 products for years...started with the 303 Protectant loooong before the Graphene hit the market.
I hand wash only, no car washes and I don't use anything on a stick....to much chance of a scrape, and no brushes on paint....too much chance of scratches. Brush on undercarriage and frame, a big yeah :like:
Was just pondering about the foam guns and how much surface dirt they would remove when foam allowed to soak for a minute or two.
Everyone has helped...ordering one from Amazon this week. If nothing else, foaming the panels and wiping down with a mitt still better than the mitt in bucket...wash...rinse...mitt back in bucket...repeat repeat.
Picked up using a leaf blower to blow water off years ago while cleaning Harley's......soooo many nooks and crannies on them it's impossible to get all the water off....blower helps mucho !!!

Some people say to soap first and some to rinse first.

Detergent encapsulates dirt so that's the rationale to put soap first.

However, the type of dirt is also a factor. Most dirt is not fat based so the argument of soap first falters a little. Besides, the soap used in a foam cannon is diluted with water, so it's really what you perceive as the best that is the best for you.

Same here, 303 aerospace protectant is good stuff and we've used it on our kayaks for a few years now.

That Mitt-on-a-Stick thing has padding on the pole so I'm too not worried about scratches but ... it's so dang heavy that I'm more scared of dropping it when moving from the roof and that it could dent our thin sheet metal! =D

Kate uses brushes on her tires and even has a special brush for the lug nuts. I just blast with the pressure washer up close. Now I do like that under carriage attachment for knocking off any big stuff and trying to rinse away road salt.

Post pics and welcome to the dandee side and see ya with a Pina colada in hand! =p
