Yeah, in a pinch and until I get to somewhere I can fix/replace the OEM. Would I prefer an exact match..yeah I def agree with you. In fact when I do replace/upgrade my tires, I will pick up a fifth tire and install it on the spare rim or appropriate rim so I know I am covered. Yes, we spend a lot of money on these trucks, yet folks buy cars/trucks costing far more with either a "donut" or no spare. It's not a Ford Ranger, or Ford specific issue.I'm more concerned with truck manufacturer's. Look at the load capacity of a truck, imagine you've got your truck fully loaded and pulling a trailer and get a flat tire. You pull out that spare and compare it to the beefy looking tire and wheel your taking off the truck.
