The Princess took note of my whining! A shiny new pair were waiting under the Christmas tree. Marvin the Martian for security and dramatic effect.

My wife and I drove up to Duluth and back this weekend with the truck on our first road trip. Drove 540 highway miles and MPG’s per the truck were 22.5! Per my manual calculation it was really 21.3 but still not bad. Truck behaved well on the road. Drove 75 for over 300 of the miles. My wife thought the steering was much tighter than her Explorer. Not quite as smooth of a ride but not bad either for a short truck. Left in tow mode the entire trip and that handles the freeway really nice. Overall ??

Got the 1” lift installed and the red tow hooks too! The 1” lift looks great and appears by my measurements to have added just under 1” of lift. I will post good side shots tomorrow. The rake is almost gone!

Looking forward to the pictures. I ordered a 2” spacer lift. Figured worse that could happen is if it’s too tall I’ll do a 1” shackle lift in the rear.

I went back and forth between the 1 and 2 inch lift. Opted for the 1” in case I decide to pull a camper in the future. Also came to realize for bigger tires it’s more of a crash bar issue than a lift issue.
