Brandon, you got a link for the plasti dip? I need to try it on the FJ. Thanks in advance.True about the backwoods hillbilly part hah. I threw plasti dip on them for $45 and called it a day. Let them get messed up on the trails.
Hey Bladimir, here you go.Brandon, you got a link for the plasti dip? I need to try it on the FJ. Thanks in advance.

Thanks Terry! If I was doing a more legit paint job like your rebuilds I definitely would. However, the plasti dip fills in the micro scratches perfectly, I do nice light coats so little specks fill out everything smoothly. I just rush it too much sometimes and then overspray on a certain section hahaha. I’m not the best with long processes, my impatience gets the best of me.Brandon, since you're plasti-dipping, why not use an automotive filler primer first, followed by the Plasti?
The primer (and I want to say it's Rustoleum brand, but maybe not) with fill the scrathes nicely and the Plasti should finish anything micro stuff left. Just a thought![]()

Thanks, so basically this can be used for off roadding where pinstriped are eminent cause the plastidi can come off.Hey Bladimir, here you go.

This stuff is a lot cheaper at Home Depot or Lowe’s or Dixie line, basically any hardware store. Amazon it’s $11 dollars each vs $6
also plasti dip glossifier if you want a more wet glossy look versus the famous plasti dip matte black look. Both look good. The glossifier is also up protectant. Will be able to find in same section as plasti dip probably.
Yes however, it does take quite a bit to get a good coating to take off. About 3-4 heavier sprays, if the coating is too light it won’t all peel off because it won’t adhere to itself enough. I think it would be a bit too much work to use for an immediate purpose like you mentioned. Also the overspray can be annoying, I would recommend masking tape + drape plastic or newspaper to avoid getting it on anything you don’t want to. For instance like doing an emblem directly on the truck, tape off and cover all sides of it. Little spots of spray will rub off but it takes more effort than you need to be doing. Something like this is what I mean. Thanks, so basically this can be used for off roadding where pinstriped are eminent cause the plastidi can come off.
I'm reading this understanding that you need a cattle trough for a dip tub...?Thanks Terry! If I was doing a more legit paint job like your rebuilds I definitely would. Haha. Basically. If it came out half decent I’d probably go that route.I'm reading this understanding that you need a cattle trough for a dip tub...?
