I checked out that particular truck the last time I stopped in to Factory Five. Quite impressive if you are looking for a Pre-Runner but not something I would ever be interested in.

I built one of the Cobra replicas (FFR3341) back in the early 2000s. Nice kit, but it required a lot of additional engineering to get it competition ready. Hopefully they have picked up their game and are including a lot more of the necessary parts that don't require a lot of hand rework.

I am in process of building one of their 33 Speedstar kits. The chassis is a pretty straight forward bolt together but the fiberglass is taking a lot more work than I anticipated.

Yep, lots of grinding where the panels meet. Too many cleecos. Good luck with the build.

FWIW, I didn't use any cleecos. Marked all the panels with a sharpie where the frame members run, using the supplied gauge drilled all the panels, placed/clamped the panels in place, drilled the frame on opposite corners, riveted those places and then drilled and riveted the rest of the panel. The 33 doesn't have near as many aluminum panels as a Cobra and everything lays into place. I didn't see the need to add an intermediate step by adding cleecos.

We didn't get an "included gauge" for drilling the panels. Putting in the footwells and firewall was a terrible experience. Add to it that I was working with my teenage son, who at the time was ate up with girls, and I spent a lot of time reworking it. However, the car turned out great, went to several cobra weekends and track days with it. Ended up parting ways with it once my sone went off to college and I lost my cruise partner.

I have seen the Cobra footwells, much more complicated than the tin work on a 33. There are a few small pieces that are mounted during final assembly but this is the extent of the aluminum panels. Fitting the trunk, doors, hood and side panels has been a much more tedious undertaking for me.
