Molden said that “the best first thing” to do to address this problem is to “change the recipe, minimize a number of toxic chemicals in the tires — then you got the best of both worlds.
Oh God. They're going to do to tires what they did to our oil based paint, what soy wraps did to our wiring harnesses, what E15 did to our older fuel lines...

You're gonna wake up one morning and find mice ate your tires!

That article is comparing the particle emissions from brakes / tires of electric cars to the tailpipe emissions of gas cars. Makes no sense to me, it seems like most gas cars have tires and brakes also. Another of those highly biased articles / studies that compare apples to oranges to try to prove their point.

Had they compared the brakes / tires emissions of electric cars to the brakes / tires + tailpipe emisions of gas cars it would make sense. But then it wouldn't look bad for electric cars...

We will tweak the data to support our bias.

"Even so, California’s air agency used a model that assumes electric and gas vehicles have the same amount of tire wear when analyzing the effects of the ban, according to the Journal.

The public was quick to note the error, but the agency doubled down on its stance, saying it’s “speculative” to assume electric cars will always be heavier than their gasoline counterparts."

Elon will shoot more cars into space and California will use that data to say they weigh less.
