Good day folks.

Brought my truck for oil change to my mechanic & weirdly enough, this weird sound started manifesting itself a week later??? I'm sure it has nothing to do with the oil...
Someone(s) seemed to have the same issue here but never came back.

Anyone get the dealer to say what it was? Someone on reddit said the dealer said it was normal.

Curious, tapping noise can be: belt, injector...?

Tks.

Sounds normal for the 2.3L gas engine.

Thanks, it just seems way louder at the moment, maybe the cold is making it louder?

I'm not sure about the fuel system, however, sound does carry farther and with more clarity in cold air than it does in warm air so there's a possibility you're hearing it better. I don't think cold air necessarily increases the volume of any noise, so I don't think it would make the noise "louder." But it's possible you're hearing the system with more clarity in the cold air.

I don't think the cold in general is changing how hard the fuel pump is working or how efficiently the injectors are spraying or anything like that. It's a noisy system - many many posts on this forum asking about it.
