Hey lads,
I am unsure if any of you may have had this issue with any 5th Gen Rangers.
So, I had bought a 2019 Ford Ranger XLT back in 2023 due to my old Ford Taurus Police Interceptors Transmission Blew up (surprise surprise) and ever since buying the truck with 91,000 KM on it, I’ve had weird occurrences happen with the electronics within the vehicle.
Some of these issues include when I would turn my AC on from the Dash Unit, then turn it off with the Interface Screen the AC wouldn’t work afterwards. After a day of troubleshooting, I found that I had to go back into the interface on the screen, turn the dual air on and then off, then turn the heat all the way up, and then back down before the AC wouldn’t work again. Afterwards I had learned if I wanted to adjust heat or AC I would have to either use only the Interface screen, or the dash commands, not both or this issue would come back.
secondly, once in awhile when driving, the buttons on my steering wheel would not work for my drivers side interface after a pop up would occur such as “low gas”, “low tire pressure” or various other type of warnings. I’d try to close them but they wouldn’t close. Only after turning the vehicle completely off, and restarting would these issues be fixed
finally, I’ve had issue with my centre console interface staying as a black screen after starting the truck up. I know sometimes it takes awhile, maybe for an update or something, but sometimes this interface would stay black and not turn on until I had turned the truck completely off, and restarted it.
I can find my way around the mechanics side of the vehicle fairly well, but when it comes to electronics, I am completely green and not very tech savvy in that department. I would love to hear if anyone else have had these issues before, and any fixes they’ve had, whether it’s an ECM issue, etc etc etc.
On a funny note, I’ve had issues with my AC not blowing out of the drivers side airway. I was going to go into the shop to see if a air shutter door was stuck, or some other issue until I realize the last owner had a piece of fabric tape lodged into the airway blocking the air flow Hahahaha. Easy fix after clearing the debree
Cheers lads,
