It's just a matter of time before EV's become far more mainstream.

Range will be extended for EV's and significantly lesson the concerns for those with range-anxiety. This really has been once of the biggest show-stoppers for most. And I got a taste of it second hand from a friend visiting from Phoenix. Seems as he was almost out of juice, he would end up at a charging station either full or with chargers that didn't work and ended up driving to to find one that he could actually use - all while he was draining the battery and running on fumes so to speak.

He was pretty stressed going through this, but ranges will get better over time and I believe this will be the turning point were sales start to really accelerate for EV's. Price is another issue, but double the range and suddenly that expensive EV starts looking better and better. On paper, the BOM for building an EV is a no-brainer if you are a MFG. Everyone talks of job losses due to AI, but the EV's stand to really disrupt jobs in the automotive sector. Japan has been keenly aware of this and has been openly pushing their ICE and hybrid narrative to minimize this dissonance.
I've always filled up at 1/4 tank and there were times traveling I ran it a little lower and was stressed in an area I didn't know looking for a station. The Gas Buddy app does show where the local stations are but it doesn't help in you have no cell service like I did out in Wyoming.

I know it can happen just like an ICE vehicle but people shouldn't be driving around that low on juice whether is gas or electric but they do. Besides, there's so many charing stations here in the Phoenix area. While I'm not sure about the others, the Tesla chargers show how many are available and if there are any out of service. I think just about every Target has them now too.

Glad we avoided you becoming a mall crawling Target shopper type guy with this decision 😅. Is yours one of the plug in hybrids?

Not a plug in which is why I liked this one. I'll probably still need to hook up my battery maintainer to the small 12v battery.

Yeah.....he had just invented a new type of garbage dumpster.
Then someone told him to add some wheels/tires to it so it would be easy to move around.....and, well......look where it is today......the worlds first self powered garbage dumpster !!!!!!!

One thing to check up on is when the 12 v battery goes by the way off the dodo., check into if your vehicle has a BMS reset. If it is anything like my Fusion hybrid the reset must be done (whether in car if possible or by the dealer). If not you new 12 volt will probably last at most a year. If the system is not reset, the vehicle system does not recognise that that it is a new battery and the new battery does not last.
