I just got my XLT and there are a couple things I wish it had. Better headlights is at the top of my list. I’ve already done the H9 low beam swap and it made a huge improvement. But....since the XLT uses the low beams for DRL my fear is these bulbs will need frequent replacement as the life span is much much less than the H11’s.
I’ve been reading alot on this forum about LED bulbs and would like to go that route but there is question I have - since the XLT uses the low beams for DRL, will the LED bulbs still operate as DRL’s? Or will I have to not use the AUTO function and manually switch them off/on?
Any information in this area is much appreciated.

You'll be fine.

A lot of the LED bulbs I've found have said explicitly that they either work or don't work as DRLs. I don't use my DRLs so I haven't cared about that part, but I know there are some out there that will work. But there are also some that won't, so make sure and check for sure.

Thanks. I’m leaning towards the Auxito LED’s as it seems like others on the forum like them and I believe they allow for the dust covers to fit properly.

I have the Auxitos as high beams (my lows are still halogens right now), and I can confirm that they are plenty bright and do fit under the dust covers. I know at least one of us (Ranger owners) has had issues with them melting their own wiring. But I personally, and plenty of others, haven't had any issues.

I'm actually going with 6000K HID in the low beams & LEDs in the high beam.

LED in the fog-lights; not sure if 3000K [yellow] or 8000K [blue tint]

But I am slowing swapping out ALL the incandescent/halogen bulbs to LEDs at this point.

I will probably still use The Retro Fit Source [Georgia] for the HIDs and some LEDs plus look at Diode Dynamics [Missouri] for additional LEDs.

In the bumper/plate bulbs are 194 size & went with a LED yellow [not amber] which make my plate/bumper area "pop".

Actually had good luck with this seller's LED bulbs and will try out a couple of different size & color for my other rides to test for longevity & durability [3157, 3156 reverse, 168, etc...]

The DRL is full voltage low beam, so theyll work for the intended application. With some ForScan magic and a little electrical trickery, I believe I can use the parking lights (with LED switchback) with DRL but remove the dedicated circuit from the connector. I haven't had a chance to try it out but I believe it'll work. I just dont know if removing the circuit will throw a bulb out error.

If you're conflicted on yellow or white fogs like I was, you could check out dual-color fog lights. Yellow (3000K) and white (6000K). I installed them on mine, and I know of one other guy on here who has done the same. They take a little bit of getting used to just because of their functionality and the uniqueness of how our Ranger lights work. But I've been very happy with them. Use them, either the yellow or white, pretty much every day to and from work (since it's dark all the time now). Check out the thread and let me know if you have any questions about them.

Most leds does not compatible with drl function,so have to not use the AUTO function and manually switch them off/on OR try to use the h11 led decoder to fix, but not 100% fix this issue...:handshake:
