Why in the world do they do this... ugh

Either do simple regular ol' holes, or better yet, weld a piece of diamond plating for those spots.

That crap just screams, "I'm going to hang out with Lindsey in the Cook-Out parking lot at 11pm to listen to Florida-Georgia Line and talk about how at 18 years old my dad who owns a construction company pretty much lets me be the boss of job sites so I can get in Lindsey's panties"
these stars are not giant texas stars at least..lol think of these as a pinched square.

That is...oddly specific.

It might go really great with a set of Rockstar wheels

idk if the gif will work it dont work up here at work lol
I just put one on my ranger and like it. It is very loose in the hitch but the anti rattle device that came with it made it solid. Works good with a strap for light tugs.

for the original post

yes op its ugly af but at the same time all these steps are besides the one someone showed that bolts to the bumper and goes out of the way when not needed.... i will never understand people that leave a ball or a step in the receiver tbh.

now a hitch skid is a bit different and i understand the need for those to help keep the rear oem bumper from getting smashed but ill say this they dooont always help haha

It's 15 pounds of solid cast steel. The trailer hitch bolts will RIP out of the frame before it breaks.

I'm not going to worry about it. I dragged over 120,000 thousand pounds of a Mac dump truck with trailer and backhoe behind it off the road with the chain wrapped around the hitch ball on my old F350. If you know how to drive the Ranger will never break this even being made from chinesium.

I never know when I'm going to need to use one of my trailers. And I don't want to drive 30 minutes home then back to get the trailer. Storing a rusty piece of metal in my vehicles seems dumb when it has its place in the hitch to live.

as some have stated some states its illegal to leave it in my state is not one of them but i have no reason to carry a hitch..... i know when im gonna need to pull a trailer one doesnt just randomly spawn in and then make me go dang i wish i had my hitch! nope its not needed on a vehicle you daily drive
