Yeah but my point is it doesn't show how it's locked or not. Yes I know I can just hold down. I love the app.So push the lock icon, then it will.

It depends on cell signal of the truck and your phone.I suppose Ford could put lock status either on the home screen or the vehicle status screen, but I don't think it is a big deal to hit the lock icon if I'm unsure. The app loads & responds slow enough as it is. I understand why, but adding another stream of 1's & 0's would likely slow it down more.
Go to this link and run the 1st three 'Required shortcuts', once loaded select the 'Feature shortcuts' you want one at a time. They will be installed in the 'Shortcuts' app on your iPhone. If you don't know how to install a shortcut (easy as all of the work has been done ) go to the second link. Be sure to rename the shortcut to 'Truck' from 'car', that is the ONLY thing you need to change, then add the shortcut at the bottom.I used to consider myself computer savvy, but someone who runs Macs needs to walk me through all this, what's needed and how to set it up.
Fordpass operates on cell network. As Josh said there's no distance limitations. Most of the time when I do this we're at a restaurant or out shopping so not a huge distance but it still works and you'll receive confirmation too.

My office is in a strip plaza in suburban Pittsburgh and I rarely lock the doors and when it’s hot I leave the windows down. I don’t worry since in this neighborhood my Ranger makes me one of The Poors. There are Bobby Rahal dealers either way up and down the road selling Bentleys, Mercedes, Jaguars, etc. and the Saturday cars and coffee at another mall down the road looks like a Porsche and Ferrari drag race on the highway.this is how it works in my area...
a nighttime creeper gets a slap on the wrist for opening doors and taking trinkets....keep it below that magical value and it's petty theft. The Police will lecture you on lock it or lose it and it's your problem, your learning experience.
however, smash a window and take something expensive, you've just upped that wrist slap into possible jail time.
In Canada though, that's still minor in nature, even frequent flyers breeze in and out of the court system. Get a bed to sleep on, hot showers, meals.....good deal for someone with nothing to lose.
Probably. LOL.LOL, are you the guy they all look at worried you're gonna break into their stuff?
