I have ordered an onboard desulfator from RVupgrades. During the install, if I remove the nut from the battery terminal, even briefly, will that mess up the electronics?

Remove the negative terminal first, then the positive.
When reconnecting, attach the positive first, then the negative.
The transmission computer may reset and it will shift roughly for a bit until it relearns your driving style. This is not necessarily a bad thing.
The radio stations should stay as long as it's not disconnected for a long time.
You will probably lose the auto up/down on the driver's window. Run it up and down three times and hold the button for a few seconds when the window gets to the top. If I recall correctly. Directions are in the owner's manual.

I guess I'll try to connect it without removing the terminals. Hook it up to the crossbolt.
