DD SS3 Fog Lights.

Good morning. I had a quick question I was hoping someone could help me with.

I have a 2020 Lariat Ranger FX4. My truck came with factory LED fog lights, but am looking to possibly switch to these below. My question, is does anyone know if the plug is different for factory LED vs Halogen fog lights? Would hate to buy these and take the bumper off and not be able to use them (trying to avoid any kind of splicing). I spoke with Diode Dynamic and they told me it should be fine, but Stage 3 MotorSports was iffy and said it may not be able to be used with it. So I just wanted to check if anyone else has done it before.

Hey Michael! If you dont mind, shoot us a quick message with your trucks plug in for your fog lights. From what we know the lariat should still have a standard plug in but let us try and help you determine that. And then if it works out we can get you hooked up on a kit at a great price too

I installed those fog lights on my Lariat and didn't have any issues with connectors or splicing anything, they were plug and play. It is possible to install without removing the bumper though, just turn the wheel and you'll have access to the factory fog lights.

Did you remove the bumper? I could barely get my hands up in there. I removed the little air dam but still wasnt much room. Was thinking about pulling the bumper if its too much of an issue. Had the wheel at full lock over as well. I do have an FX4 so I'm not sure if its different?

When I put mine on, I put the front of the truck on ramps. Removed the skid plate and the little air dams. Getting the factory pods off was the hardest part. Putting the DD pods on was much easier. Tip, put spacers on as you install the pods. If you don't, you won't be able to adjust the lights for height.

If you're getting the kit, it'll come with everything you need. Do what @Bob902 has mentioned above. It'll be easy if you have the right tools.

Also, don't overtighten. The bracket is plastic.

The biggest help for me was putting the truck on ramps. Gave me room to work.

Small racket with extension and torx bit and cardboard to lay on. Oh and some spacers to aim the lights.

I assume they are 1/4” diameter washers for the screws and NOT 1/4” thick? Hoping to order from Hot Shot before the sale ends next week.

I have the SS3 Max White and they are plug and play and insanely bright....and a pain in the ass to install! haha! It's a very tight area.
