Looking to improve front struts while keeping front lift the same, I’m very happy with the 2” lift in the front.
I started out installed by installing the BDS 2” leveling kit, which gave me strut tower rebuild spacers for the front and some BDS NX2 nitrogen shock absorbers in the back. That allowed me to fit Falken WildPeak AT3W tires in 275-65R18 size. My alignment shop couldn’t get the camber back to zero (about 0.5 degree positive), so I ordered and eventually installed ICON’s tubular UCAs to remedy that issue.
I just took my Ranger out on a significant test in Sangre De Cristo mountains this weekend and while I’ll say she performed well with the aftermarket improvements, I was left wanting a little softer ride in the front. On the highway and around town, I love how the BDS kit effected the front struts. I felt the stock front end on the Ranger to be overly “bouncy.” The strut compression spacer killed all that unwanted bounce but it also likely made the front end a bit harsher over rocky terrain.
Any recommendations to soften the front end without bringing the unwanted “bounce” back? I need to keep the front lift at 2” , I might be able to get away with 2.5” but I’d prefer to keep it as is; the current stance is perfect for me.
