Hello everyone,
I have been having some issues with my 2015 2.2L Ford Ranger PX2 and haven't been able to fix it. I've recently bought the elm adapter for forscan and have been using it to scan codes and try and diagnose the issues I'm having. it's given me a decent amount of codes but the main ones are p0480, p0299, p0884 and p0671,p0672,p0673,p0674. I haven't bothered to fix the 4 codes for the glow plugs because they're not effecting anything at the moment but the other codes I'm not to sure about. I can hear an air leak but only when the turbo is pushing out high amount of boost but I have a 6 month old after market intercooler and changed the intercooler pipes to aftermarket ones as well but now I can hear it even louder after changing the pipes so I'm not really sure if its an air leak or the turbo. I've looked up p0480 and found there no electrical wires connected to the fan so not sure what is causing that code but I've read that it can have an effect on your ac working and mine hasn't been working for months now so I'm wondering if that's connected. and last one is p0884 which has something to do with the transmission, I can definitely feel the bad shifting of gears and I can clear the code for a little bit and the car will shift better but it always comes back. If someone could help out it would mean a lot as I'm trying to travel to Melbourne from up north and want to try to save some money by not taking it to the mechanics

is 2015 a 4G?
Work on one code at a time?
Now you let it get out of hand it looks a bigger problem than it is :(
Whats the trade in value? at some point you have to add up all the error codes and say hey its gonna cost a 1/4 of a new truck to clear .... you could look for a used newer 5G down there?

We cannot get access to the manuals for the (ROW) Rangers here in the US, so I am going to say it is a high probability that you have a (Circuit Power) issue that is shared with every code you posted.
The uncertain code for me - is the P0480 and what type of cooling fan you have.
Standard Fan Clutch or Elec Fan Clutch or Elec Cooling Fan.

But this really needs a Live Data PID, look to see what the systems are doing, since you are getting noise (air) I suspect a vacuum leak going to the turbo wastegate actuator affecting boost pressure as another issue.
Or if Elect control actuator - the vacuum leak is causing control issues (improper vacuum)
Plus using a Smoke Test will help in locating the Leak.

Hey thanks for the reply, mine has a standard fan no wires connected to it which is why I don't understand why that code is coming up saying circuit open. do you think I should just take it to the mechanic as I'm not too good when I comes to the electrical side of cars and I cant find the vacuum leak as the noise only happens when I'm driving or maybe is it the turbo. would you know much about the code p0884 which has something to do with the trans and spanner lights coming on because of it.

Here's a picture of some voltage reading I got off forscan while I was driving, it doesn't really mean much to me unless I go research each one, just wondering if the picture means anything is bad and why engine oil is read 0.0 V

Yes, it does not make a lot of sense for the P0480 code, but I have a feeling it's a circuit issue and that the PCM is generating the code even though you do not have an electric controlled fan.
The circuitry is still there (in the PCM) even though you do not actually have it.

From the pic you posted, I really wish I could get into the wiring diagrams for your truck but the 2 that stand out are:
The Engine Oil Temp = 0 Volts and the Transfer Case Filtered Voltage = 32 Volts (On a 12-volt system)

I would recommend getting a High-End Scanner on this, something that can give you more accurate (Ford-Specific) by Vin scans.

But with only using your Forscan Codes & Live Data - You have a power circuit issue - I believe and if I could see the wiring diagram for your truck - I could confirm that all these codes are on a related power circuit.

Do you have a tune on the truck? If so, try removing it.

Nah no tune on it just has a lot of electrical sht in it because it was previously an energy businesses company car

Is there anything in your opinion that I might be able to do at the moment to try and get some of it fixed. I will have look over the wires but its going to be hard for me to just look at the wires to see if there's anything wrong with them as I don't really know where they lead to and my car has major electrical upgrades on where there's heaps of wires going to different places. And would I be better to go to a normal mechanic or take the car to an auto electrician. There's also a couple other codes I haven't mentioned and they're related to electrical as well just not really effecting anything so I haven't bothered with them when I've got these other codes
I appreciate your help aswell, you definitely know a lot more than me which has been helpful.

The P0480 can be caused by a failed coolant temperature sensor, so since you seem to have a low voltage reading on the coolant temperature sensor, it may be causing the code. What does Forscan report as engine coolant temperature with the engine warmed up and what is the ECT_V voltage warmed up?

I would get an electrical diagram and look at the engine oil temperature sensor wiring to begin with as it is reading 0 volts. This will probably lead you to solve the other codes that you have, as they seem to be related electrical issues.

ill have a look on forscan with those things when i get a chance. I've ordered a coolant thermostat because i was reading about about someone having the same issue as me and it turned out to be a bad thermostat but if that doesn't work i guess ill chuck in a new coolant temp sensor.

I have just found a saved file from forscan when I did a test on the car and the coolant temperature starts from when I started the test at 47C/116F and after 5-10 mins reaches 59C/138F and I'm pretty sure I had the car running for a little before I started the test

It would be helpful to see the engine temperature when fully warmed up.

and a couple months ago my aircon was squealing for a while and then one day stopped working and still isn't working but there's no codes that have popped up for it, I read that it might be related so do you reckon it would be related to the p0480 code or is it its own problem
According to the link I provided above, it could be related.
