Any idea what can causing my check engine light to be coming on randomly on and off, one day it’ll be on and say due to emissions. The next week it won’t be on then randomly come back for the same reason

Are you able to read the codes, with a scan tool?

You’re using an actual OBD2 scanner? You should be getting a specific code, not just a generic “emissions” issue. Could be a number of things… Mass airflow sensor, catalytic converter, gas hatch not sealing, EVAP system… You need to scan for an actual error code to find out what’s going on. That will narrow down whatever the issue might be.

My 2019 Ranger did the same thing at 44,000 miles and it turned out to be catalytic converter, I would have never expected that to be the problem. The only way I found it was taking it to a Ford dealer. It was replaced at no cost under the emissions warranty.

Go to an Auto Zone they will read it for free an give you a print out explaining the problem and what you need to do to fix it. I recently had a light on my daughters explorer. It was an oxygen sensor, one of four. It identified the exact one Bank2 sensor 2.
