I have had my ranger since 5/11/19 and already put close to 3500 miles on it. I love it and it drives great. I am actually vacationing in the outer banks as we speak. We drove on Corolla Beach and today we are driving on the south side. When i got out to deflate my tired i turned the engine off and when I restarted the truck the check engine light was on. Is there any dignistic tools on Ford Pass or on the dash board instruments. Im just guessing that it maybe something to do with being in the sand. I had a 2012 jeep grand cherokee and those had issues with sand mucking up some of the awd computers and such. Suggestions?

BTW. The ranger handles the sand like a champ!

I am guessing but if you go down to your "Glove box" and click on "Vehicle Health Reports" it will have that info. I wish I could put a picture of the screen but I'm at work ATM.

*Edit*
So far I've been impressed with the information provided by FordPass. I knew when the dealership was filling my tires with Nitrogen after my oil change due to a notification at work on my phone...lol. I knew my truck was done with service before the service center did.

Shouldn't be the sand, could be the TPMS complaining about low tire pressure though.

ODBII readers are small and inexpensive if you cannot find the root cause. TPSM sometimes requires miles before clearing a status. Regardless, an ODBII reader is a good tool to have in your toolkit.

What did you air down to and did you use TM sand mode?

It sounds like you have a not thoroughly seated wiring connector. Probably in the engine compartment. Have the dealer check electrical wiring integrity.

Thanks Phil . Dealer thinks its injectors but no sense taking it back to them until light stays on. Very well could be bad connection though. I did the old time wiggle test with no good results. Thanks Bret

Hi Brett,

These new connectors look seated when they are not really seated. Have to do the Push Together test. I had one and knew when I heard the click it was seated...this was for the forward warning sensors...

Codes stay in memory. They can pull them, even with the light off.

You can also go to many places like Autozone and O'Rieley's and they can pull codes for you too.
