Just received my new Ranger 2019. Left the dealership and the Check engine comes on. Turn around and they say its a Software issue so the update. Next day only 75 miles, it pops on again. Seems to be running ok but now back to dealer. What the heck?

It kind of seems like two related issues - a batch of bad injectors and the software update that deals with injectors. I'm guessing the software update will "fix" some of the injectors that are marginal, but if they are truly bad, it won't fix it. That is just my Sunday afternoon quarterbacking opinion (FWIW). :)

That does seem to be the case.

24 days of ownership, 18th day in the repair shop ☹

Keep the faith, Ric - you will be loving your truck again very soon. I'm grateful I haven't had any of those issues. I think it is just the luck of the draw, honestly. When I saw my build date, I was a bit worried - my build date was originally a Saturday (3/16), but it ended up being a Tuesday. You know what they say - you don't want a car built on Monday morning or Friday afternoon.

1400 miles and 4 weeks in, I've had no issues (knock on wood). I love driving this little truck!

I believe things will be sorted out. I am horribly disappointed in the timeliness of the repairs. I am one of the newly converted customers Ford desperately recruited and many people are watching my experience. I hope I can soon report out that things are well.

It is Sunday afternoon quarterbacking, but your probably not too far off. I had the injector that kept erroring replaced and then they did the update. I'm guessing all the software update did was allow for a bit more margin of error before it throws a code. I will never know because they did both fixes. Good luck to you. It seems like this injector thing is turning into the most likely issue someone will experience with their new Ranger.
