Can I hard-wire a GPS to my switch box?

I have some extra switches for my AUX light box and my initial research on Google seems to indicate most draw 2 amps? Maybe 5 amps at absolute most?

Anyone else done this?

I’ve hard-wired, but only to an ignition-switched circuit. Shouldn’t be a problem as long as you include any power adapter in the circuit. The USB-powered models should be looking for 5 volts.

Yes my switch box goes through an ignition on fuse and relay.
